Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine

    1. BRIEF HISTORY

The Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine is one of the first two faculties established alongside with Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry in 1970, which is now well-known as one of 8 faculties carrying out specialized training.

      2. MISSIONS

Training:  to train students of the three following areas:

- To educate students at the doctoral level related to the Animal Science, Veterinary Parasite, and Nutrients & Feed.

- To train master degree in Animal Science and Veterinary.

- To train engineer degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Pharmacy and Aquaculture.

Scientific research and technology transfer: to do research and technology transfer in the field of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Medicine and Aquaculture.

3. ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

Currently, faculty has 74 lecturers and staffs including 03 Prof., 11 Assoc.Prof, 27 Ph.D Degree holders and 25 Master Degree holders.

There are 05 departments : Basic sciences, Animal Husbandry & Aquaculture, Animal Diseases ,

Microorganism - Surgery – Diseases, and Pharmacology - food safety.

       5. SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER    

In the last 5 years, the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine conducted  many research projects and technology transfer programs in the areas of: husbandry, veterinary medicine and aquaculture to different provinces, especially in the Northern mountainous region.

The faculty members have conducted more than 200 scientific research projects. In particular, there were 03 State Approved Research Projects, 44 Ministry Approved Research Projects, 120 TUAF Approved projects, and 42 student research projects.

6. COLLABORATION IN EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

The local partners: Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Hung Vuong University, and veterinary agencies.
