Mr. Do Van Chien- Minister, Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs; Mr. Ha Ngoc Chien - Chairman of the National Assembly’s Ethnic Council; Mr. Doan Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of Thai Nguyen People's Committee; Mr. Dang Kim Vui, President of Thai Nguyen University; Khammoune Viphongxay, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs of Laos, and Khin Maung Yi, Permanent Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Myanmar co-chaired the workshop.
There were also the presences of deputy ministers, deputy heads, departments and units under the umbrella of Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs (CEMA); leaders and researchers from departments, institutes and organizations under the Lao Front For National Construction, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Laos; Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Border Affairs of Myanmar; Ministry of Social Development and Human Security of Thailand; Ministry of Ceremonies and Religion of Cambodia; Leaders of Bac Kan, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen provinces; Representatives of international organizations; TUAF Rector Board and leaders & heads of units under the umbrella of TUAF;….
The workshop participants & speakers shared their experiences and views on socio-economic development in the ethnic minority areas of the province in recent years such as: Preferential Policy on credit support for investment development of production; Formulating a system of mechanisms and policies on price subsidies and subsidies for agricultural and forestry materials annually; Priority policies for investment in the development of education and training; Sedentarization and sustainable development in association with the new rural development program in order to provide recommendation on investment solutions & support for development of ethnic minority areas.
At the workshop, the leader of CEMA awarded the Memorandum of Agreement between the CEMA, Vietnam & the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (MHA) to the representative of MHA.
