Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF) is granting scholarships to international students to study in The Advanced Education Program (TAP) in 2012. The TAP of TUAF was approved on the 15th of October 2008 by Ministry of Education and Training - Vietnam. The major to be offered is “Environmental Science and Management” which focuses on excellent teaching, learning and research.
The Environmental Science and Management program was adapted from the formal training course of University of California at Davis (UC Davis), USA in accordance with decision No. 7853/QD-BGDDT on Oct. 29, 2009 of the Ministry of Education and Training. The program will be taught in English by highly qualified professors from UC Davis, Vietnam and some other countries.
The TAP of TUAF is a government-supported program. Therefore, tuition fee for international students is only 1000 US$ per year (10 months and 100 USD per month). All of international students who study in The Advanced Education Program of TUAF will be exempted from dormitory fee.
Scholarship Types
Three types of scholarships for international students will be granted this year, including Full Scholarship and Partial Scholarship. Students, who are granted with a Full Scholarship, will be paid 1,500,000 VND per month (equivalent to about 70 USD per month) plus tuition fee of 1000 USD per year. Partial scholarships awardees will be exempted from tuition fee (all tuition fees or a half of tuition fee of 1000 USD per year only) and they have to cover their living expenses themselves.
Scholarship awardees are expected to pay other expenses for their studies such as air-ticket, services (telephone, electricity, water…) and other personal expenses.
Scholarship Selection Criteria
- Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of recent academic excellence at senior high schools or universities, extra-curricular activities which demonstrate a student’s leadership ability and other personal strengths, and recommendations from principals/teachers and/or supervisors etc.
- Applicants must graduate from high school/senior School;
- Late application will not be considered.
Benefits and Conditions
- The full and partial scholarships will be applied for both English courses and a four-year BSc. program.
- The Advanced Education Program in TUAF reserves the right to contact relevant schools/ individuals to check the correctness and accuracy of application form.
- The scholarship is program-specific and cannot be transferred to another program unless approval is obtained from the Academic registrar.
- The Advanced Education Program in TUAF reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship at any time if the student does not observe University rules and regulations or does not progress through programs at the normal full time rate.
