Collaboration between Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry and University of New England

20th April 2017, Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF) warmly welcomed the delegation from University of New England (UNE) and Director of Aus4skill program.

The representatives of UNE, Prof. Annabelle Duncan- The vice –Chancellor, CEO of UNE, Dr. Jason Ketter- Director of Advancement and Engagement of UNE and Mr. Graham Alliband- Director of Aus4skill program were warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Tran Van Dien – Rector of TUAF, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Hung –Vice Rector of TUAF, Dr. Duong Van Thao- Director of International Program Office, Dr. Nguyen Huu Tho- Director of Office of Research and International Affairs, Dr. Duong Van Son-Dean of Faculty of Economics and Rural Development, Dr. Do Xuan Luan- Lecturer of Faculty of Economics and Rural Development, Dr Duong Hoai An- Lecturer of Faculty of Economics and Rural Development, Dr. Hoang Hai Thanh- Lecturer of International Program Office.

Assoc. Prof. Tran Van Dien- Rector of TUAF introduced briefly about TUAF ‘s education and development. He took a glance view of collaborative research projects between TUAF and abroad Universities and Centers, aiming to enhance research and teaching quality.

Prof. Annabelle Duncan- The vice –Chancellor and CEO from University of New England Her talk aims to establish good collaboration with TUAF for cultural and educational exchange. She provided available scholarship for PhD, Master and Bachelor programs via web platform, especially PhD programs for human resources improvement.

Mr. Graham- Director of Aus4skills program gave overview of Aus4skill program (formerly Vietnam-Australia Human Resource Development Partnership) and informed scholarships for Vietnamese students, who desire to study in Australia every year.  He highly believed that human resource quality has been improved in Vietnam for some years ago. Recently, Aus4skill program provided short training courses and workshop in Son La province for participants, especially for ethnic communities. This program has improved outcomes by encouraging learners spend 6 weeks in Vietnam and 6 weeks for studying in Australia for leadership skills. He informed that TUAF has the largest number of Australia alumni in Vietnam, especially TUAF has 28 staff studied/ graduated from Australia up to now.

Dr. Duong Van Thao gave briefly introduction about TUAF’s information, including establishment, training programs, infrastructures and organizational structure, our missions aim to mainly improve education and economics in the North Vietnam. TUAF has 9 faculties for master and 8 faculties for PhD program. Up to now, TUAF has established cooperation with 7 international centers. TUAF has more than 12 thousand Undergraduate students; 1,036 graduate students; 79 international students for full- time students and exchange students from different parts of the world such as Australia, Germany, Korea, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Switzerland…

TUAF has been improved international education as increasing the number of student’s study and work oversea due to Internship program, joint program and exchange program. Next year, master program (Advanced Education Program) cooperation with Greifswald University will be opened next years under supported by DAAD.
