The faculty of resources management successfully organized a workshop “ building career skills and signing training contract for ecotourism students”

On Saturday , in December 11 2016, the faculty of resources management solemnly held a workshop for ecotourism students in order to direct them build their future career skills. Attending the workshop, there were presence of distinguished guests together with leaders and lecturers in the faculty. Specifically, Mr.Vu Van Thanh – Head of Department of hospitality, Mr Hoang Anh Tuan - Chairman of the Managing Board of Mineral, Energy and Environment joint stock Company, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoan – General Director of The Ann Ha Noi Hotel, Mr.Luong Van Thuong – Khanh Thinh commercial transport and tourism joint stock company, Mr. Do Trong Hiep – General Director of Da Huong Hotel as well as Ms.Vu Thi Thanh Thuy – Dean with other lectures in the same faculty.

During the workshop, the delegates together exchanged ideas on different subjects of new major “ Ecotourism and natural resources management” . In order to make the curriculum of the new major much more suitable for social demands, there were hundreds of ideas presented during the workshop which helped students to have a deeper view about current development status of tourism industry now in Vietnam and also what criteria they are looking for from students. Generally, most of the delegates mentioned about the importance of English nowadays in the hospitality and tourism industry. And it has been strongly agreed that we have to do something to remove more some unnecessary subjects like math , physics, chemistry and replacing by some other English subjects together with real internships. One bold idea has been spoken in the workshop “ teaching some professional subjects by English language” by one of the delegate, which made workshop become more active in discussions.

At the end of the workshop, the faculty digested and absorbed great ideas from outer guests along with others and perfectly agreed on signing the memorandum of understanding with above delegates about accepting students to have internships in their business when they get to final year student. Both sides concurred with presented ideas and made hand-shaking with each other to hope further cooperation.

Eventually, after the workshop, a small banquet was organized in Crown Hotel to celebrate a meaningful day with tons of good results.
