International conference on " Livelihood Development and Sustainable Environmental Management in the Context of Climate Change"

On the occasion of the 45th founding anniversary of Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry, on November 14, 2015, Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry, the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Research and Graduate Study in Agriculture (SEARCA), VECO Vietnam, CARE, Sultan Kudarat State University, Thai Nguyen University, the Agriculture and Forestry Research & Development Center for mountainous Region (ADC)  co-hosted an international conference on "Livelihood Development and Sustainable Environmental Management in the Context of Climate Change".

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Dien - Rector delivered an opening remark with a deep gratitude to the valuable assistance of co-sponsor and a warm welcome to the experts, scientists and managers who attend the conference. He also expressed his high hope that this event will provide the scientists and organizations an opportunity to exchange and seek opportunities for scientific collaboration.

The conference consists of 04 parallel sessions with stakeholders to: (1) Community development, ethnic minority and public health in the context of climate change;(2) Natural Resource and environment management in the context of climate change; (3) the application of high technology in Household Economic development, agriculture and environmental resource management and (4) cooperation in training, scientific research with ministries and local authorities.

With 18 papers presented in parallel sessions, both domestic and international scholars shared information and discussed about the impact assessment of climate change on the livelihoods development and ecology. The sharing of responding and adaptation experiences to climate change, some solutions for technical and institutional policies to cope with climate change and international integration.

This conference has become one of the outstanding events for the 45 years anniversary of establishment of TUAF (1970-2015), marked a development stage of the university towards new successes in the mission of training, research and technology transfer.
