I love KMUTT, I love Thailand

My name is Nguyen Thi Tham, a student of Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Technology at Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF).

Eight months ago, I and one of my classmates, Bach Thi Dzung, were luckily selected to take the internship at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) based on the cooperation between TUAF and KMUTT. It is the first time I have gone abroad with many worries about the new life in another country.

When I came to Bangkok, my first feeling is about the hot summer there and we often joked each other: there are three seasons here: hot, hotter and the hottest season. However, after a few days, we started being familiar with the life in Bangkok. And why do we love Thailand so much? Well, there are several reasons I want to show you now.

The first thing that we saw after visiting Thailand is the friendship of the people here. Wherever you need the help, they are so patience and willing to helping us. I remembered one time, when I found the way to my friend’s address, a kind person gave me the direction regardless it was heavily raining.  And the enthusiastic reception at the KUMTT helped me and Dzung a lot when we started with new environment. The Fungal Biotechnology laboratory, where I was taking the internship, I was guided by amazing lecturers as well as other technicians and students. My advisors, Dr. Songsak Wattanachaisaereekul and Msc. Phimrak Khaokhajorn had taught me not only knowledge but also things in my life. Both my technique and English ability were greatly improved after 6 months here. They always encouraged, guided me and helped me try my best at work. From the early days until the last days, I had seen a true kind spirit of Thai people. And I also heard Dzung talked about her lab Animal Cell Culture lab and her advisor, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanokwan Poomputsa and Msc. Marlita. She told me: “I was lucky to study here”. During six months, we are really happy to be learning and working with the good environment and advanced technology.

One more thing made me love Thailand was the exciting extra-activities which we had the chance to participate with other students at KMUTT. After working time at lab, Dzung and I had many enthusiastic activities with friends in ASEAN and other countries, for examples, food and culture exchanges. These activities had helped us to understand each other deeply and strengthen our networks in Thailand.

The last things we appreciated here was the help from other Vietnamese students who had been learning in Thailand for a long time. They are “the bridge” to let us approach new environment faster. I believe that there will be more Vietnamese students come here to study in the future. And I also hope that more and more students from TUAF will take the exchange programs or internship here lie Dzung and me next years.
