Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Ha Cong Tuan visited and worked in Thai Nguyen Province and Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry

On January 11, the delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development led by Deputy Minister Ha Cong Tuan had a meeting with Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee and Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry.

According to evaluation reports, in the period 2016 - 2020, Thai Nguyen province has newly planted over 30,900 ha of forest; 4 million scattered trees. The planning for 3 types of forests has been basically completed; The target program for sustainable forestry development has been implemented effectively.

At the meeting, Thai Nguyen province asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to report to the Prime Minister for early approval of the Vietnam Forestry Development Strategy for the period 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030; Sustainable forestry development program for the period 2021 - 2025 for local implementation. At the same time, it is recommended that the Ministry direct the General Department of Forestry to soon unify the planning data of 3 types of forests in Thai Nguyen Province to integrate into the national forestry planning; Upgrade forest monitoring software.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Ha Cong Tuan highly appreciated the results of the Thai Nguyen Agriculture sector achieved in the past year. prevention and control of epidemics on livestock and poultry, ensuring supply, not allowing food prices to increase dramatically during Tet holiday. Along with that, Thai Nguyen needs to actively prevent and fight forest fires, pay attention to directing the production of spring time.

For the forestry sector, the Deputy Minister requested that in the coming time, Thai Nguyen should pay attention to developing large timber forest plantation towards export; focus on reviewing and developing forests in association with the project "Planting one billion trees to contribute to the country's sustainable development in the period 2021 - 2025".
