IMD MBA Scholarships

IMD offers a number of scholarship programs for international students from different countries and backgrounds.

Financial aid

IMD is committed to encouraging diversity within our full-time program by providing support and assistance to those who have the profile, but lack the financial means to complete the IMD MBA.

We typically award IMD scholarships of varying amounts to 25% of the class and work with different sponsors to increase your options. Prodigy Finance are our loan providers as they offer international student loans focusing on higher education at top schools. We also strongly recommend that you seek alternative sources of funding where possible, and have compiled the below list of some options that have been helpful to our past participants.

IMD scholarships

IMD offers a variety of merit and need-based MBA scholarships. Some are exclusively allocated with the first admissions application deadlines, some throughout the year, and others only at the end of the year. Should you be selected for several scholarships, you will be awarded the one with the highest financial benefit.

Our MBA Financial Aid form (not needed for merit or CORO scholarships) must include supporting documents: yearly proof of salary, tax return form, latest bank account statements
If you apply for multiple scholarships, we only need one copy of the Financial Aid form

Application Scholarships	Profile & Criteria
Emerging Market Scholarships CHF 20-60K	Submit Financial Aid Form at time of admissions application. Recipients confirmed at time of admissions offer. Criteria: citizen of a developing country, good academic results and GMAT score, strong reference letters, steady career progression.
Merit Scholarships CHF 20K	Awarded to applicants who demonstrate exceptional qualities throughout the admissions process. Recipient confirmed at time of admissions offer. No scholarship application required.
IMD MBA Class of 1976 Merit Scholarship CHF 50K	Awarded to the best all-round applicant from the April deadline. Recipient confirmed at time of admissions offer. No scholarship application required.

Sponsored Scholarships	Profile & Criteria
The CORO Foundation Scholarship CHF 85K	Applicants must be a national of Denmark. Submit a 500-word motivation essay on: Why should I be considered for this scholarship and how can I contribute to IMD's MBA Program?
Staton Scholarship CHF 50K	Applicants from South America (except Brazil) who return for at least three years after graduation. Submit a 750-word essay on: The role of entrepreneurs in moving my country forward and my contribution to that goal.
Stewart Hamilton Scholarship for women CHF 50K	Submit Financial Aid Form at time of admissions application. Recipients confirmed at time of admissions offer. Criteria: citizen of a developing country, good academic results and GMAT score, strong reference letters, steady career progression.Read and reflect upon the case study 'Hollinger and the Downfall of Conrad Black' . Submit a 750-word essay on: What, in your view, were the failings in the Hollinger corporate governance system? What personal learnings have you drawn from your analysis of the case study? Your essay should be divided equally between the two questions. The word limit will be strictly enforced.
Nestlé Scholarship for Women CHF 25K	Preference is given to women from developing countries. Employees of Nestlé or its subsidiaries are not eligible. Submit a 750-word essay on: Many have argued that greater diversity in the Top Management team of an organization is good for profits and customers. What would you recommend as ways to achieve greater diversity?
Diversity Scholarships Africa/Middle East and North America CHF 30K	Essay: 500 words on "The role diversity and globalisation will play in my future career".

Use the IMD MBA Scholarship template
Express your personal point of view in your own words, if necessary supported by proper citation

Scholarships are granted subject to nomination by the scholarship selection committee, acceptance into the program and confirmation of your intention to participate in the program by paying the advance deposit.

IMD reserves the right not to award a scholarship if the criteria are not met to the satisfaction of the jury/sponsors.
