At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Tran Van Dien – Rector of TUAF extended his warm welcome to Kinki University delegation. He said that the development of cooperative relations between Vietnam – Japan which commenced during the recent years has brought favorable conditions for the growth and development of the two universities in the field of education & training. Further, he also suggested some potential fields for the effective cooperation between the two sides such as research cooperation in the field of Environmental Science, Food Technology, and other related fields, Student & Faculty exchange; particularly in sending TUAF staffs to study at KU graduate programs, organizing international seminars as co-host, and introducing KU training programs to Vietnamese students.
In response to the above suggestions, Prof. Tsuyoshi Arakawa expressed high hope to receive Vietnamese students to study at KU especially in the graduate programs. In addition, he stated that when Vietnamese students study at KU, they may have the opportunity to receive scholarships from KU and the Japanese government for prospective excellent Vietnamese students. In addition, Prof. Tsuyoshi Arakawa exclaimed that the students also will be supported accommodation and may serve as teaching assistants & teach Vietnamese Language to Japanese students. He also mentioned the proposed establishment of International School of KU in 2016. Moreover, he proposed to hold cultural exchange programs to provide Japanese students about Vietnamese culture in order to increase the number of Japanese students who are interested in Vietnamese language to apply Vietnamese course at TUAF. According to Prof. Tsuyoshi Arakawa, now there are 03 research projects of KU that can be jointly conducted with TUAF.
After a series of discussion, the two sides agreed to further exchange information to promote the cooperation between the two learning institutions.
